Assistant Teachers

The Assistant Teacher works alongside the Lead Teacher to help create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for young children. This role includes helping with classroom activities, supporting daily routines, keeping the classroom clean and organized, and making sure children are supervised and engaged throughout the day. Assistant Teachers help encourage positive social-emotional growth, build strong relationships with children and families, and work closely with the teaching team to create a warm and welcoming classroom community.

We also love supporting professional growth! Through our partnership with Clover Park Technical College, staff have access to free Early Childhood Education (ECE) classes and opportunities to continue building their skills and education.

All candidates will need a STARS ID, Completed DCYF Portable Background Check, CPR/First Aid/BBP Certification, Washington State Food Handler's permit, high school diploma/GED, Childcare Basics or college equivalent, and negative TB test before being offered a permanent classroom position at BELC.
